Tarantino certainly knows how to channel women when he writes diologue ... slutty, foul-mouthed ones. The women in "Death Proof" made me want to puke. But it was a decent film. Tarantino needs his mouth washed out a bit.Philliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01569460745875839404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32247838.post-43387598957563823172007-06-25T21:18:00.000-07:002007-06-25T21:18:00.000-07:00Death Proof is the first and most recent film to c...Death Proof is the first and most recent film to come to my mind.

And, although rather one side most of the time, Jimmy Stewart's monologues in Mr Smith Goes To Washington are a delight as well. His awesome voice doesn't hurt anything either.

And then there is always Before Sunrise and one of my all-time favorites, The Breakfast Club.raymondhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13647134793545631309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32247838.post-55839908678229545222007-06-25T21:15:00.000-07:002007-06-25T21:15:00.000-07:00Interview reminds me of another great indie twofer...Interview reminds me of another great indie twofer called What Happened Was...

Then, of course, there's Sleuth, the grandaddy of them all.

Oh, oh, and Persona.

Glad you mentioned 12 Angry Men, my all-time favorite movie. (I guess you could choose to see the entire film as a battle of wills between Henry Fonda and Lee J. Not necessarily two actors, but you'll get the gist. I love me a great verbal showdown.

"Proof" (2005) - scenes with Paltrow and Gyllenhal, although any scene in this film has great diologue and interaction.

"The Big Lebowski" - Although not a drama, great diologue and character interaction.

"The Usual Suspects" - I love the scene with Spacey and Chazz Palminteri (sp?) close to the end. They build such great tension (or is it the editor) ... edge of my seat every time.

"12 Angry Men" - of course.

"The Odd Couple" - the original 70s version with Lemmon and Matthau.

You?Philliphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01569460745875839404noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32247838.post-45874695760668690292007-06-24T20:22:00.000-07:002007-06-24T20:22:00.000-07:00I love dramas with two great actors duking it out ...I love dramas with two great actors duking it out with diologue.

Hey, me too!
